On the “Fret Scale” from 1 to 10, we weighted “Soundboards” an eight (8) and “Back & Sides” a six (6). You may be thinking, master grade “Aged Adirondack Spruce”, “Aged Sitka Spruce” or “Sinker Redwood” tops have to be a ten (10)! We agree – when compared to other tops. The rating on our “Fret Scale” from 1 to 10 was to make us think – what makes a great guitar? Tonewood is truly an essential part of the guitar when viewed as a system.
